Josh Chapman
I have over 28 years leadership experience, the past 15 at the executive level. My roles have included being the CEO of a 50 person Series A startup, leading Operations for a firm that sold for billions; and as a COO for two companies. Some selected accomplishments include:
- 3 exits totaling >$3.5 billion
- Growing a business from $300,000 to $65 million revenue
- Turning around an underperforming company that went from burning $100K/month to being profitable in 14 months
- Raising >$50 million in capital from angels, VC's, and strategics
- Scaling a business from 30 to 2,200 employees
Why a Fractional COO?
Over the past 8 years I have advised dozens of start-ups and mid-market companies. The two most common questions I am asked is:
- Will you join our company as COO?
- Do I need a COO?
The answer to the first question is often "No, you're not ready for a full-time COO, nor do you need one." I have been that COO who was hired too early in a company's trajectory and I provide these services to help others avoid that same mistake.
And the second question requires a much deeper dive with the leadership team to answer. Being a fractional COO allows me to help founders figure that out before they make a long-term commitement.
